I’m a Sunshine Coast based MC/DJ entertainer and music enthusiast.

I provide meaningful entertainment for weddings, parties and events because I believe that you will always remember that amazing time you had celebrating with those around you.

I know the local area because I grew up here!

I grew up on a property in the Noosa shire where I spent much of my youth riding my bike around town and spending my spare time talking music at the Noosa Community Radio station.

From a young age I’ve had a wide range of mentors. Teaching me how to understand the relationship between specific music genres and the audiences they generate. Community radio taught me how to cater to the unique interests of everybody in the community.

I began programming and DJing at the age of 12. Each week I’d host a 2-hour program mixing my favourite music. I began sourcing out and discovering new music and entertaining listeners recreationally. I loved this platform.

I started when the station first opened its doors on the Noosa river and I followed it to Tewantin and then once more to where it stands today in the Noosa Junction.

These days I live with my wife and 2 children on the sunshine coast in the central suburb of Bli Bli. A short drive to many of the picturesque locations to have a wedding that the sunshine coast has to offer. 30 minuets to Caloundra, Noosa and Maleny. I couldn’t imagine a better place to go to socialise and to raise a family.

Having such broad understanding of music at a young age enables me to cater to such a wide range of people using intuition pared with experience and intelligence.

A New Experience In Radio

One day while I was editing at the local radio station I was approached by ‘Brad Smart’ a local owner of the Smart radio network. Brad asked me if I would like to join their station to operate the mixing desk to panel for a program.

This lead me to the opportunity of hosting a program of my own. Here I could gain a direct relationship with the stations audience through live to air competitions and on demand requests. I also developed skills in production and as a voice over artist for adverting. I was with the Smart Radio Group for 8 years (The Smart Radio group later become part of the Maquarie Regional Radio Group and since then has been acquired by Resonate broadcasting)

My experience in commercial radio gives me an understanding of demographics and popular music. Its impact on society as a whole through mainstream media and popular culture. Radio taught me how to present with eloquence on a microphone and address an audience appropriately and in a timely manner.

My Experience as an Events DJ

Today I am celebrating 15 years of working directly with clients and couples to achieve the perfect celebration!

While working in radio, my wife and I welcomed our first child. At the time we were working towards a down payment on a house and we wanted to pay it off a little faster. I contacted “Rick” (Elite Sounds Entertainment) who I met during my time in community radio. I asked Rick if I could help him out with some weekend work. I began working with him as an offsider to later doing events with a setup of my own for Elite Sounds Entertainment.

I began with the luxury of Rick’s advice at hand to discover how to establish my setup and how to work with clients exceptionally well. This accelerated my craft of becoming a versatile events DJ. I began working as an events DJ at the age of 22 which now gives me 15 years experience in the industry.

I am currently also available through Noosa Photobooths, Elite Sounds Entertainment, Sungroove DJs and Allstar DJs.

Having peers in the industry to assist with reflection and the discussion of new ideas allows me to fine tune and construct my services to deliver the best possible solutions I can offer.

A Young Entertainer.

As a youth, I collaborated in a Hip/hop group titled the High Knights. This is was when I began writing songs and performing live. Besides playing in smaller venues we also managed to achieve a few festival gigs including the RIPE festival in Noosa. During this time we bought a Public Announcement system and this was when I first got familiar with operating one. These days I continue writing music under the name of Fringe Mellow.

Becoming Family Friendly.

I love to inspire and engage with people of all ages. After radio I transitioned into childcare.

Maquarie Regional Radio moved their headquarters inland giving me the choice to follow them or become redundant on the Sunshine Coast. I took this opportunity to expand my skills further in a new direction.

Being a father of young children I decided to study my Cert III in childcare to take a more active role in their development and to play games, be creative and entertain young minds for a living. I continued to work at Busy Bee’s Maroochy for 5 years.

Working with children in a care setting gave me a deeper understanding about how I can inspire and engage young people creatively and correctly.

When I am not DJing

During my downtime in-between popular event dates that consist mostly of weekends & nights. I like to keep my week available for my young family. Working as an events DJ, I do have quiet spots in my calendar from time to time. Most preparation I do for a gig will take up a day of my 5 day week. Besides maintaining a happy household with my wife and children I also offer support work. I work with clients who receive NDIS funding to receive daily living assistance. This provides me with a great work-life balance leaving me available for popular event dates and to provide income for the quieter ones.

Working as a care provider gives me a greater understanding of everybody’s unique circumstance. An awareness that emphasises the importance of having respect and consideration as personal attributes.
